| Maine Kayak is based at the Big Moose Inn featureing Cabins, Inn Rooms,
a Campground, and a Dining Room. The Lodge is nestled
between Lake Millinocket and Lake Ambajejus and is within
walking distance to our Penobscot River Base. The Big
Moose Inn and Penobscot River Base are only ten miles
from Baxter State Park and the highest mountain in Maine,
Mt. Katahdin (5,267 feet). Let Maine Kayak handle your

The cabins sleep from 4 to
14 people comfortably and are a stones through away from
the two lakes. They have hot running water, showers, full
cooking facilities, and screened in porches. The Cabins
are a great family retreat option. The Inn rooms are quaint
country style bed and breakfast rooms with New England
antique furnishings and hardwood floors in most rooms.
There is an entertainment lounge in the lodge and opportunities
to rent canoes, swim, fish, hike, and just relax. The
Inn rooms are a great option for couples or family looking
for a relaxing place to stay after your course. The campground
provides bare tent-site camping with fire rings and picnic
tables and are within an easy walk of either lake. The
campground provides bathrooms and coin-operated shower
facilities, a general store, and The Big Moose Inn Restaurant
in the main lodge.
